Scaffolders Fall Arrest Safety SG4:05
Course objectives
This training course has been designed to promote the introduction of fall arrest equipment within the scaffolding industry. It aims to raise awareness amongst personnel regarding:
- The need to wear and use full body harnesses
- The change in working practices
Employers of scaffolders and those persons who are in charge of scaffolding operations utilising traditional tube & fittings are now required to ensure that appropriate and recorded training has been carried out for their workforce in the correct use, and inspection of, fall arrest equipment.
Although at the present time this new code of practice from the N.A.S.C. is only a recommendation to their members, it has been fully endorsed by the H.S.E. and is being supported by the majority of major construction companies as a requirement on sites where scaffolding operations are taking place.
