Health and safety for Directors

Course objectives

This course aims to ensure that health and safety is appreciated by people at the most senior level who are responsible for determining their organisation's safety policy.

At the end of this training course, delegates will be able to:

  • State their legal duties and responsibilities with regard to health and safety legislation;
  • Understand the principals of risk assessment and health and safety planning;
  • Understand the financial implications of health and safety in the construction industry;
  • Have a knowledge of the non-prescriptive approach to legislation;
  • Recognise the need to appoint competent health and safety assistance.


A CITB certificate of training is awarded to all Directors and senior personnel attending.
